What a joy

It has been absolutely wonderful being in contact with our birth mom! We were actually able to hang out and have lunch with her on Sunday, along with her 1 year old.  We also were able to meet birth dad for just a few minutes too (he didn't eat with us though, it was at the end when we were saying good bye).  We had such a great time just hanging out and chatting.  We feel completely blessed to have been chosen by such a great person! We are so thankful she's in our lives!!  

 Birth mom and I have been chatting through text for awhile now, and it feels like we are long lost friends! We have found several things that we share in common and just being able to chat off and on with her has been awesome. I have enjoyed every moment of it!  We have our first apt together this Friday too, and I'm excited because afterwards we get to hang out and chat some more. :) Also, we are hoping that we get to find out if baby O is a boy...or a girl... :D  Either way we will be completely fine with whatever God has decided to call our own!! :) 

 We are so excited for this journey that we are on and so thankful for the closeness we are able to build with our birth mom! We continue to pray for her, her family, the unborn baby, and this journey.  We pray that everything continues to go smoothly and that God's hand continues to guide this path we are on together.  We pray that we can be her support and family when she needs it the most.

It's just in a few short days when we are hopefully going to be able to find out if you're a boy or a girl! Daddy and I couldn't be more excited to be able to call you our own! You are loved so much and will be spoiled by many!!! :)  We are looking forward to meeting you beautiful one! We love you!!

    Beautiful update! God is Great! So very excited for you guys and can't wait to see what Baby "O" will be ... I know I originally guessed "PINK" but I am now leaning more towards "BLUE" :) Time will tell and Friday will be here before you know it! Crossing my fingers Baby "O" will cooperate and give the tech a good view. God Bless!

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
