Exciting news

I understand I have been quite on here, but really there hasn't been a lot of stuff going on.  We have been off and on shown to birth moms until just recently when it really started to pick up.

 So I talked to our advocate through Building Arizona Families on Sunday (8-25-13).  She gave us 3 more of their information...we went ahead and said yes to 2 of the 3 of them.  Last week we talked to her and she gave us a couple of birth mom's information and we said yes to them as well.  I can't even tell you how many birth mom information we were able to get, or how many women we were shown to...I'm thinking around 5??  

 Anyway....she called me again on Monday! She tells us that we didn't get shown to one of the birth mom's like we were suppose to be...but instead...showed us to a birth mom that we chatted about the day before.  She then proceeds to say, "Well, she chose you guys."  

 WHAT!?!?!?  We were chosen!!???  I was so dumb founded and shocked it took a few days for it to sink in.  We set up a date to meet birth mom on Friday, the 30th of August. :D I'm nervous and scared and excited all at once.  If this is true....we will have a baby in Feb!! :)

 I will keep you posted on how the meeting goes...hopefully the nerves will calm down soon :-/

 For our meeting, we decided to make birth mom (and her family) some chocolate chip cookies, and we got birth mom some flowers.  The picture is below...

Well, it is now Friday evening...our meeting with birth mom went GREAT!!!! In fact, so much so that she told her advocate that she loved us!!! :D :D :D  With that said....






WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!!! 







We are expecting baby to be here around Feb. 12!!!! :D We are VERY excited and very happy to be able to announce this finally!!! 3rd trimester...here we come!!! :D

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
