Almost Half Way

God has been absolutely AMAZING at how He'e been moving in this process. So far, (even though it's not on the thermometer to the side)...we are just under $3,000 away from being to our half way goal for our agency.  It amazes me how God has been coming through, and he never seems to cease amazing us either.  We are just short of $7,000...and it continues to climb every day.  I have had a few people say, "Here, it's not much, but every little bit counts." I tell them right back, "You have no idea!" It's been incredibly awesome to watch God do all this...because truthfully, we couldn't do this without Him! He has brought people into my life that I don't even know that has helped us some way, shape, or form.  Whether they donated items for our raffle, bought tickets for our raffle, have trusted me to do their hair...or even their kids to babysit...all those, what people call little things, truly do ADD up...and quickly!!!

 We are still waiting for our social worker to get a hold of us to set up a time to go over our application into the infant adoption program. I was hoping it would have been before this weekend, but it looks like it might be next week some time...which is fine.  Once we meet with them and are accepted, we will be a waiting family. :)

 God is amazing at providing for us and we are excited to see what else He has for us! Please keep praying as we are getting up there to our goal as well as the process in general. Thanks.
Dear Baby O,
Mommy and Daddy are getting more and more excited with each new day, as each new day brings us closer to meeting you.  You are our sunshine, and all this is for you!  You are loved and we pray for you daily. 

 We are slowly getting things ready for you to be home with us.  We put up some monkey decals in your room...we found a car seat for the time being (in case we get a call saying you are ready before we we were...we at least could have something to bring you home in)...Grandma is excited as she is going to start getting things together to have a shower in honor of you! 

 I stand in your room and just think about how I can't wait to hold you, and to be with you.  We are excited to be able to play with you and watch you grow. I dream about you often...sometimes I remember them, sometimes they are just an image in my brain...but regardless you are always on my mind.  

 We love you more than words could ever say, so we can't wait to show you how much we love you! :)  Grandma/Grandpa O and Grandma/Grandpa K are also excited to show you how much they love you too.  You are going to be one blessed kid!!! <3 <3 Love you to the moon and back!

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
