New Things


Well, we are still waiting on the courts to give us that piece of paper that makes everything official, but we aren't just waiting for them...in the mean time we are working hard at raising funds and gathering some things for baby!  Over this past week we were able to get two things for baby.  We got a baby Einstein jumper and a crib mattress.  The cool thing about the mattress is that we got it for only $15 and it looks like it's brand new!! We don't have a crib, but at least we have the mattress for when we do.  Normally those things are $100 and up!!! :-/  Craziness!! Below are the pictures...

What a great find we ended up finding for both of these!!! :-)  Funny thing...we are having a garage sale next weekend, and yet here we are picking things up and adding them to the choas of our disarray bedroom as we prep for our sale...hmm...I don't think I thought that one through! LOL

Baby O you are so loved beyond measure!! We are so looking forward to having you here with us and to be able to enjoy your smiles, laughter, and even tears!!  We pray for you everyday, along with your birth mom.  We pray that you grow to be a healthy boy or girl.  We are so in love with you and we are ready to spoil you!! <3 <3  Even Grandma K has already gotten you a little something. :)  Hope you hurry up and get here soon.

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
