What a Week!

So I have been extremely busy with my "business" that I started... I have had several orders for all kinds of things.  A few items that I have done are below that I thought I would share with some of you.  I think my favorite item that I have done so far are these cute infant/baby converse shoes.  I told Steve that I am for sure making a few pairs for our own child!!! They turned out adorable!!! :D  I have finished so many projects this week it's been crazy.  I still have some orders pending as well.  I need to make another pair of infant ballet shoes (they don't take long at all)...crowns...a ski hat...I believe that's it.  Most of the money (see the thermometer off to the right on this blog) has been from my little business that I'm doing.  I'm so amazed to see how fast this site has come along and how God is really using my talent and joy to make things to be able to raise money for our little one as well.

 Not to mention doing that, I finished our support letters.  I addressed a ton of envelopes and stuffed them.  That was a fun job to do! LOL ;-)  But it tells a wonderful story of us and our journey.

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
