Hiccup in 2nd trimester

Well, we hit a little hiccup in our journey during the 2nd trimester (that part from the time home study is done to the time we are matched with a family)...we were missing a few pieces of information in our home study by the previous agency.  I contacted the agency and requested the information (which wasn't hard...in fact...she was awesome and willing to do it).  We got that paperwork yesterday! :) Woohoo! We had a meeting with our social worker on Tuesday this past week, and she went over our profile book and talked about where and how to improve it (including the order of it)...so I'm working on that. Once we submit our paperwork from the agency then we should be all set to go...:D Super excited!!!  So it may have been a little hiccup, but it was easy to fix! :D  Our social worker did tell us that she doesn't need our profile book to put us on the list, so we have time to get that fixed, but I plan to send her our home study packet this weekend!! :D Keep you ...

Almost Half Way

God has been absolutely AMAZING at how He'e been moving in this process. So far, (even though it's not on the thermometer to the side)...we are just under $3,000 away from being to our half way goal for our agency.  It amazes me how God has been coming through, and he never seems to cease amazing us either.  We are just short of $7,000...and it continues to climb every day.  I have had a few people say, "Here, it's not much, but every little bit counts." I tell them right back, "You have no idea!" It's been incredibly awesome to watch God do all this...because truthfully, we couldn't do this without Him! He has brought people into my life that I don't even know that has helped us some way, shape, or form.  Whether they donated items for our raffle, bought tickets for our raffle, have trusted me to do their hair...or even their kids to babysit...all those, what people call little things, truly do ADD up...and quickly!!! We are still waiting ...

Our Story

Well, I think I realized that our full story isn't really told...sure we are adopting...sure we have tried for a while....but here is the whole thing... Christine and Stephen’s story: Ok, where to begin but at the beginning right?  LOL Steve and I will be married for 10 years on the 17 th of this month.  We started off on birth control and about a year later, we decided to get off the pill and try to start a family.  We knew it would take a few months, so in July, we were off.  To our surprise, we found out a month later that we were pregnant! I was thrilled and shocked! So was Steve!  I questioned it at first because the home pregnancy test came back negative, but when I went to the doctor, they confirmed it (I even got to see it because I didn’t believe her! LOL)…we went for blood work to verify and it was confirmed, we were pregnant!! We figured out that I was just starting my 5th week and that was probably why my home test came back negative. Arou...

Crazy days and 2nd trimester

Wow! It's been on of those crazy weeks and days...with the end of the school year coming to a close (and rather quickly), we have been busy non-stop.  Then on top of that I have a few orders that I have been trying to fill from my "business" page...and if life isn't crazy enough...I'm still trying to work on getting licensed to be the crochet instructor for Michael's, and I was asked to be their knitting...which of course is a separate class! Sooo...needless to say...I can't complain that I'm bored! LOL :) However, a few updates are in order for this process and journey that is going on! :)  We had our 1 of 2 classes for our agency this last Saturday.  Our next and last one is May 4th.  I really enjoyed the class...although I a FLOOD of emotions during the panel time where a birth mom got up and told her story...it was still extremely awesome to hear it from her perspective.  We were able to ask questions to her to know a little more about what their...

Diaper Bag and other news

Image
Yes, I couldn't resist...I ended up picking up a brand new diaper bag...but I didn't pay even CLOSE to retail value.  I get on craigslist every so often just to see what they have...well this time, I found a brand new, Carter's diaper bag.  I loved it and it was even better than the original one that I had picked out on Amazon....and it was cheaper.  I was thinking about asking $20 for it (she had it listed for $25), but when I looked it up and found that it was $52 on Amazon, and went up to $80, depending on where I went, I decided that $25 was a smokin' deal and decided to keep it.  I picked it up and now I can't wait to use it! LOL I'm so weird, I know!!! In other news, we have our first class this coming Saturday already!!! Amazing that it's almost here!  We also have been approved by the court to be adoptive parents, just waiting for the actual certificate!!! :D Super excited!!!! :D We are slowly (which is fine) getting the nursery ready.  We chang...

Super Excited

So we went with one agency for our home study, and now we are working with another agency for our birth mom (when that time comes).  I had to email the gal that we had our home study from to get some paper work transferred over the new agency we will working with and as she answered my question, the next sentence said this, "I did get a report yesterday that you are approved so now we just have to wait on the official PW. Should only be a week tops!" (PW is paperwork)...SSSSWWWEEEEEETTT!!! :D  Then she emails me later and asked if we wanted to work with them and their birth moms as well as the agency we are going through....I told her we might.  So we may be able to "double" our chances....down fall with that agency is that their fees are higher and we will be tied to a birth mom's expenses.  So if the birth mom we found through them changes her mind we would lose out the money...however, the agency that we are working with now has a set fee (no more than that E...
