Letter to Baby

Dear Baby O,

I wanted to take a few moments to tell you how exciting we are to be able to meet you (and soon!!!)!!  We found out a week ago today that you were going to be in our lives and we couldn't be happier!!!  We don't know yet if you're a girl or boy, but either way we are excited to call you our son or daughter!! :)  You are going to do amazing things and be an amazing person that God has called you to be.  Please note that not only does your mom and dad love you very much, so does your birth mom and dad!!!  They love you so much to be doing such a selfless act.

We have been praying for you before we have even known about you! You have been on both daddy and mommy's heart for a long time! You have started to grow in there long before you were conceived!!!! We love you so much already that it's hard to even imagine me loving you any more...yet I know I will!!! :)

Today when I was at work I got a picture of your first photo that was taken. I was so beside myself when I first laid eyes on you! My breath was taken away when I realized that the little baby that I was seeing through an ultrasound picture was my son or daughter!!!!  I was so filled with great emotion...love, joy, happiness....I wanted to cry but tried to hold it in knowing I had 20 little 6 year olds around me :)  I was so excited to see that first picture of you that all I could think, do, and imagine was the things  you're going to be able to accomplish!! 

You are loved in so many ways and we are so excited to be able to share our lives with you.  We can't wait to find out if you're a girl or boy...and we can't wait to see your cute little face, hold your hand, kiss your head, and to hear you call us mommy and daddy.  We are going to continue to pray for you, your birth mom and dad, and your siblings.  We love you baby O!!!

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
