Mommy and Me Spa Day

We had such a great and fun day yesterday as we did a Mommy and Me Spa Day as a fundraiser event. A HUGE shout out to 3 special ladies who helped me IMMENSELY on this project...from loaning their home, to helping with food, decorations, props, and so SO much more!!!  Another shout out to the many ladies that helped donate items as prizes and gifts to the lovely ladies and their littles!!! (Pictures to come later)

So, here is how it worked: Moms and their their daughters came to pamper each other! Mom did daughter's hair, nails, makeup and then took their pictures! <3 Then the daughters did the same!!  Everyone had a great time as they created memories with their little(s) and helped support bringing home baby! <3  

 We were able to raise about $250 from this event, which wasn't bad at all! 

 We are looking at doing another event in August.  We want to do Bunco!  We are also looking for at least $5 gift cards (or more) to anywhere....gas cards, Kohls, Walmart, Target, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Old Navy....etc...to auction off during our event.  If you're interested in donating a gift card, please let me know so we can arrange something. Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
