Hiccup in 2nd trimester

Well, we hit a little hiccup in our journey during the 2nd trimester (that part from the time home study is done to the time we are matched with a family)...we were missing a few pieces of information in our home study by the previous agency.  I contacted the agency and requested the information (which wasn't hard...in fact...she was awesome and willing to do it).  We got that paperwork yesterday! :) Woohoo!

 We had a meeting with our social worker on Tuesday this past week, and she went over our profile book and talked about where and how to improve it (including the order of it)...so I'm working on that.

 Once we submit our paperwork from the agency then we should be all set to go...:D Super excited!!!  So it may have been a little hiccup, but it was easy to fix! :D  Our social worker did tell us that she doesn't need our profile book to put us on the list, so we have time to get that fixed, but I plan to send her our home study packet this weekend!! :D Keep you all posted!!!
P.S. You won't see to much postings going on, since we are in the "quiet before the storm" kind of phase....once we are matched and things start rolling, then posts will start to happen more often...but for now you will see posts about upcoming fundraising ideas...and things like that.  Keep watching that thermometer as it has been growing each step of the way!!! :D  There are a few things that I haven't added to it yet because we are waiting for the final count, then I will add it....it sure has been extremely exciting to see God work through all of this!! :D Thanks for your prayers and support and I continue to ask for them! They are working!! :D

We are super excited as it keeps getting closer and closer to us meeting you. You are loved beyond measure and we are excited to share the journey of life with you.  You are always on Daddy and I's minds as we are walking this journey.  Every moment of this process has been completely worth it!

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! How cool is that!!!  Then later today, I gave some left over hot dogs to my neighbor and a water (he's handicap now because of a job injury), and he knows what we are doing...

Fundraising

Well, here we go with starting to fundraise to get the funds we need.  It's amazing how expensive the road to adoption is. We are looking at around $25,000. This will cover the agency, attorney, and birth mother expenses.   You can follow how we are doing by watching the ticker in the side bar.  Here is where we can use your help...you can do one of the following... 1. Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
