I love Randomness!!!

I have to share this story of how today was filled with randomness!!  I took some dish scrubbies to work today for a lady that I work for and she asked how much.  I told her they are only $1 a piece, so $5...so she asked if a check was ok.  I told her yes...thought it was weird for just 5 bucks, but whatever...cash, check...it all works the same in my eyes!!! LOL  So anyway, I was chit-chatting with her about the weekend and that, she finished the check, handed it to me, and I said my goodbye without looking at the check.  As I was walking down to my room I glanced at the check and had to do a double take because it sure wasn't $5!!!!  I was in awe that I just stood there in the hallway looking at it and debating going back...but instead I have decided to write her a thank you note because WOW that was completely random and a great surprise! :)

 Then on top of that...I got home from work today and Steve was on the computer.  I noticed a card sitting there with a little baby outfit on it and so I picked it up (thinking it was a baby shower or a thank you or something)...come to find out one of my aunts and uncles (I haven't even sent out our support letters yet by the way...working on those still)...had sent a check congratulating us!! Holy Moly! I was in awe again and thought...wow that was another great random surprise!!! :D  The card is below because I just thought it was the most perfect card ever!!! I was even praying this morning about finances, the birthmom, us, the process, everything really....and here God turned my ordinary day into a day of randomness (or as my pastor might say...a random burrito day) (Those from my church will know what I'm talking about!!!) :D  Thank you God for supplying for ALL of our needs, from the BIG ones to the small ones!!!  You are God alone! :D

Amazed and Blessed

Wow, where to even begin!?  This weekend we did our garage sale, and wow what a great experience as we had signs EVERYWHERE to let people know that all funding was going towards our adoption.  We were asked several questions about what we were doing and why.  Great way to tell our story.  Yesterday a guy came over, stepped into the garage and said, "Well, I don't need anything, but I want to help towards this great cause..." and proceeded to drop some money into our donation jar!! :D  Then today lots of random things happened...one couple came, didn't buy anything, but asked lots of questions and then said, "Well, hey, I want to pray for you guys.  I want to pray that things will work out, for this baby that you get, and the process in general." I grabbed Steve and all 4 of prayed! Our Match Meeting

I have had a few people ask us about our match meeting...so I figured I'd just write about it for all to read. :) Ok...so I had to go ALL FREAKIN' WEEK knowing that we were meeting with a birth mom on Friday. What in the world was I going to do for a week to keep my mind occupied!?!?!?  Oh man, Thursday morning came and I was so nervous, and it wasn't even the day of the meeting!!!  Lunch I had a hard time eating just because of the nerves. It's finally Friday...the day of the match meeting. I guess I ended up being eager beaver because we were there 30 minutes early! I thought it was at 9am, but it was at 9:30am...oh geez...oh well...better early than late right!? During the time I was sitting and thinking about how crazy this was that we were actually at this place...meeting a birth mom...a flood of emotion came over me...I started to cry but tried hard not to so my makeup wouldn't run...wouldn't look to good with 2 black eyes, right!? Surprising News

I have been calling around different agencies to see how much their covered costs are.  I have accured a lot of information over the past couple of weeks on how agencies run and what their pricing goes towards.  This is what I have found so far... Most agencies range between $20-30,000...about 75% of that is to market to the birthmothers as using adoption as a means for their child, instead of abortion.  Then on top of that are attorney fees (not always, but this seems to be on the general range)...and those will depend upon how long the case lasts, etc.  So that's probably another $5-10,000...then on top of that there are birthmother expensives.  I was told that if you don't help pay the expensives then it will take an even longer time to get matched.  So tack on another $5,000 or so....and this money is non-refundable if the birthmother changes her mind during or just after the baby is born (in most agencies).
